About Peters/Sizemore Family Tree
Welcome to the Peters/Sizemore Family Tree Website. I am new at researching ancestry and you will find that I am only posting names of ancestors that I feel relatively confident are "actual" ancestors.
For the Peters' side of the family, I have been greatly aided by several living relatives who have kept records of some of the Freeman ancestry line and the Hiers line. I used as my source for the Hiers line a book printed in 1974, "The Hiers Geneaology", by the R.L. Bryan Co.. This book of Hiers history was compiled over many years and with confidence in their work, I can, with high assurance state, that on my Mother's side, our ancestors come from John Jacob Heyer, Sr., who in the 1700's, came to America from Germany with his family. One of his sons, Michael, is a direct descendent of my Grandfather, William Hiers.

What makes things a little more interesting is that I was also able to learn that my Grandfather, Virgil L Peters, married Carrie Hiers, who can be traced back to the same John Jacob Heyer's other son, John Jacob Heyer Jr. I guess it was an even a smaller world back then!

On my wife's side of things, the Sizemore's have proven to be a difficult clan to track. My research on her side of the family has been frustrating to say the least. With so much information on the web, it is at times overwhelming. It would appear, however, that her ancestry contains several Knights and Ladies, including the Filmers, the Scotts, the Argalls, the De Pympes and others all from England. If you have any further information that can help me, please contact me through this site.

Please visit the story section where you will find additional information and pictures about some of the more interesting ancestors of the Peters' and the Sizemores'.
